Production Brewer (Full time)

Job Description

The Role

This is a full-time, brewery-based role covering all aspects of production. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Brewer and wider team across the brewing, cellaring, packaging, and maintenance processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Wort production on our 10BBL brewery
  • Cellar management including fermentation monitoring, yeast management, and dry-hopping
  • Packaging into keg, cask and small-pack
  • Cleaning and sanitation of tanks, lines, and equipment to a high standard
  • Recording and maintaining accurate brewing and production data
  • Assisting with recipe development
  • Quality control and sensory evaluation
  • Stock management and preparation for distribution
  • Washing and maintaining casks and kegs
  • Assisting from time to time with local deliveries and representing the brewery professionally on the road
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment

About You

We’re looking for someone practical, motivated, and passionate about craft beer. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and enjoy being part of a close-knit team where everyone pitches in — from brewing and cellaring to cask and keg washing, packaging.

Essential skills and attributes:

  • Previous professional brewing experience
  • Solid understanding of brewing, fermentation, and packaging processes
  • Strong focus on cleanliness, quality, and consistency
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Organised, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Good record-keeping and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Formal brewing qualification (e.g. IBD, Brewlab, or similar)
  • Forklift licence
  • Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge
  • UK driving licence
  • Microcan operation experience

Delivery Driver (Part time)

Job Description

The Role

Vaux Brewery are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Delivering and collecting stock to pubs, restaurants and other venues.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Route planning; being self-sufficient and organised to plan your drops in the most efficient manner
  • Warehouse duties including helping with the packaging team & stock rotation
  • A wide variety of other tasks, such as maintaining vehicles & the warehouse space, keg scanning, assisting in labelling stock etc.

Key Requirements:

  • Must be 25 years of age or older for insurance purposes
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Hold a full clean current UK driving license
  • Sociable, self-motivated, team player that’s able to work independently
  • Have excellent customer relationship skills – polite, responsive and helpful
  • Articulate & basic computer/technology literate

Beneficial Requirements:

  • A Forklift license would be beneficial
  • An interest in beer always helps!
  • Experience of driving in and around city centres in the North East.

Please note that this role involves frequent and regular lifting and manual handling of kegs that are 25kg and heavier, bending and sitting/driving for long periods.
