TAPROOM MANAGER
  • Hours: approx 24-30 hours per week (mostly weekends)
  • Reporting to: Directors
  • Hourly rate: dependant on experience
    We are building a brand new venue at our microbrewery in Monk Street, Sunderland.  You will be helping to set up the venue, train new bar staff, become familiar with our products and provide superb customer service. You’ll need to have experience of management, strong leadership skills and the ability to pick up new tasks and information quickly.

    Your day-to-day duties will vary from week to week but will include:

    • Recruiting, training and managing staff
    • Liaising with customers (including serving food and drink)
    • Ensuring that high standards of customer service are maintained at all times
    • Stock management; undertaking regular stock checks, placing orders with suppliers deliveries and stock handling
    • Liaising with street food vendors regarding attendance at the taproom for events
    • Responding positively to customer enquiries in every format (email, telephone etc), and managing our database of customers
    • Running promotional campaigns for events and new products
    • Identifying opportunities and areas to improve and develop the services and the venue
    • Taking responsibility for pub safety and security
    • Maintaining health and safety standards and venue maintenance at all times

    BAR STAFF

    • Hours: approx 16-24 hours per week (mostly weekends)
    • Reporting to: Taproom manager
    • Hourly rate: £9.50 per hour
     

    You will be required to work to the best of your ability at all times during working hours, showing consideration for the needs of our customers and fellow staff members. As a member of bar staff, serving customers will be your top priority and you will be expected to do so in a polite, efficient and knowledgeable manner.

    Other duties will include:

    • Ensuring the bar and the taproom environment is clean and tidy
    • Ensuring that the bar is well stocked at all times
    • All employees will be expected to display a high standard of teamwork and participate in all duties equally
    • You may be required to cover the hours of absent colleagues, undertake extra hours of work or duties to ensure the efficient running of the bar
    • We expect all staff to be on time to all shifts
