General Manager - The Bridge Hotel Vaults Ltd

Your role:
To take full responsibility for all aspects of managing a pub. To support, lead and motivate the team to achieve the following on a day-to-day basis:
● Excellent customer service
● Serving food and drinks to the correct specification
● Maintaining a clean, safe and legal workplace
● Adhering to agreed standard operating procedures and policies
● Contribute meaningfully to sales and profit targets
About you:
● Demonstrate leadership ability.
● Have the ability to manage time, prioritise and delegate tasks, to ensure that each shift runs smoothly and efficiently.
● Know how and when to delegate tasks and how to feedback positively/constructively to the person completing the task (identifying any areas for improvement, if necessary).
● Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm in your role and show commitment to your
colleagues and the pub/restaurant
● Have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated
● Have a friendly nature and good communications skills
● Be honest, trustworthy and respectful
● Remain calm when working in a fast-paced environment
● Contribute creatively during regular business development meetings (events, new
products etc)
● Adhere to agreed uniform and appearance standards, setting example across the team
● Receive regular feedback from the Directors and achieve any actions agreed on
day-to-day

To oversee and guide the operation, leading by example, demonstrating how to complete tasks, motivating and coaching the team to:

● Deliver consistently high standards of cleanliness, quality, service, maintenance and atmosphere, proactively managing results which fall below expectations.

● Ensure that opening and closing procedures are adhered to.
● Adopt a stand-back-and-look approach to ensure that all areas are correctly presented throughout the day. Ensure that all POS meets current guidelines.
● Be welcoming to customers; maintain high levels of customer management on every shift
● Be aware of, and knowledgeable about, all promotions, events and new products in your pub, sharing your knowledge with the team to ensure that it has the latest information
● Take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness by adopting our
clean-as-you-go philosophy for all areas
● Ensure that all areas are cleaned and maintained, throughout the day, in accordance with agreed standards
● Ensure that the team actions any points raised on kitchen checks in a timely manner
● Respond to any customer feedback in a positive and helpful manner, seeking support, if required – reviewing all customer feedback with the management team and identifying/actioning any training needs
● Work with door staff, when applicable
● Maintain office administration, in line with company standards and general data
protection regulations, including use of duty manager logs, CCTV, keys, safe and
storage of paperwork
● Take responsibility in achieving all financial targets set by taking proactive steps to build sales and control costs.

Work with the Directors to:
● Forecast sales and associated costs
● Review and manage all aspects of the profit and loss account
● Maximise sales opportunities
● Know your competitors and their current pricing/activities
● Know your customer base and understand what is happening across the hospitality scene in the city
● Manage stock holdings and minimise shrinkage
● Monitoring correct pouring and dispensing of products
● Completing daily line checks and logging all wastage
● Maintaining appropriate order levels and receiving deliveries, ensuring full
availability of products at all times
● Investigating and reporting any anomalies, as required
● Achieve all people-related targets
● Conduct new employee inductions
● Hold probation and training review meetings; ensure that all training is completed
to the required standard and within set time frames; agree on actions for
improvement, development and progression
●  Manage all formal meetings with the team, eg attendance review meetings and
disciplinary meetings; respond promptly and appropriately to any staff concerns
or grievances
● Effectively and proactively manage the day-to-day performance and attendance
of the team, as required
●  Manage accurate rota development, in line with sales and hours forecasts
● Monitor and manage all maintenance issues in conjunction with Directors
● Carry out any reasonable task, as requested by the Directors, to meet the needs of the business

This role relates to a new venue opening November 2024. This is a salaried role which is dependent on experience.

 

Bar Staff - Vaux Taproom 

  • Flexible Hours
  • Reporting to: Taproom Manager
  • Locations: Vaux Taproom (plus occassional events and pop-ups) 

You will be required to work to the best of your ability at all times during working hours, showing consideration for the needs of our customers and fellow staff members. As a member of bar staff, serving customers will be your top priority and you will be expected to do so in a polite, efficient and knowledgeable manner.

Other duties will include:

  • Have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated
  • Have a friendly nature and good communications skills
  • Be honest, trustworthy and respectful
  • Remain calm when working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensuring the bar and the taproom environment is clean and tidy and following our clean-as-you-go philosophy
  • Ensuring that the bar is well stocked at all times
  • All employees will be expected to display a high standard of teamwork and participate in all duties equally
  • You may be required to cover the hours of absent colleagues, undertake extra hours of work or duties to ensure the efficient running of the bar
